Herschel Bartels, 62, Park Ridge, Ill., died Sunday Dec 3 at the home of his mother-in-law, Mrs. OP Anderson, in Westby. Services will be at 3 pm Wednesday in the Westby-Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Rev. HO Assen officiating, assisted by Rev. Ernest Habig of Park ridge. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He was born Dec 26, 1904, in Trempealeau to Mr. and Mrs. A. Bartels. On Aug 27 1932 he married Alta Anderson and had since made his home at Park Ridge. He was employed by the Maremont Corp. in Chicago 20 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was also an Elk.

Survivors are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Grayson Babcock (Ann) Fort Atkinson; one son, Peter of Park Ridge; and four grandchildren.
