(son of James Thatcher and Mary Gano of Martinsburg, Berkeley county, West Virginia). Born August 25, 1809, Martinsburg. Came to Utah September 23, 1847, Daniel Spencer company.

   Married:	Alley Kitchen in 1829, near Martinsburg (daughter of Joseph Kitchen and Catherine Ghulic of Martinsburg). She was born April 12, 1808.

           Joseph Wycoff born August 10, 1829, married Hannah Morrison;
           Abraham born 1830;
           Catherine Mary born July 28, 1831;
           Mary Ellen born March 14, 1833;
           John Bethewel born October 22, 1834, married Rachel Hanna Davis, married Sarah Maria Davis;
           Aaron Dunham born April 25, 1836, married Marie Baliff;
           Harriett Ann born February 1839, married William Bowker Preston;
           George Washington born February 1, 1840, married Luna Young, married Fannie Young;
           Moses born February 2, 1842, married Letitia Ann Farr;
           Sarah;
           Hyrum born November 25, 1844;
           Hezekiah born 1846;
           Virginia born March 7, 1861.
   Family resided Sacramento, California, and Logan, Utah.
   Married:	Jane Amy Baugh October 5, 1869. Salt Lake City (daughter of George G. Baugh and Elizabeth Furneaux), who was born November 25, 1851, Birmingham, England.

           Evangeline twin, born October 22, 1870;
           Ada, twin, born October 22, 1870, died;
           Samuel B. born January 11, 1872, married Verna Lufkin, married Maud Bowen;
           Wilford Woodruff born February 17, 1874;
           Orson Pratt born August 19, 1876, married Nettie E. Reeder.

Seventy; missionary to Sweetwater 1848, to bring immigrants. Indian war veteran. Built first mill in Cache county. Merchant; banker; stockman; miller. Philanthropist. Died April 23, 1879. Logan. Sources:
