Hirsz probably lived in Rajgrod, Poland, since he had children born there in the (approximate) period 1810s. Some of his children moved to Suwalki. By 1839 he is listed on Szachna's wedding registration as being "of Suwalki."

Grandson Meyer Hirsz Josielowicz (1843) and possible Grandson Hirsz Jankielowicz (1836) indicate that he died prior to 1836.
