NEIBAUR DEATH HELD NATURAL

Police discard Hit-Run Theory as Cause of Aged Man's Demise

At first believed to be the victim of a hit-run driver, police concluded Monday that Hyrum S. Neibaur, 89, 132 West North Temple street, died of natural causes Saturday night. Mr. Neibaur was found unconscious at 7 p.m. Saturday in the street at West Temple and North Temple streets. He died at 9:20 p.m. in the emergency hospital, where he was taken. The aged man was found by Miss Monte Roberts, 20, 54 West First South street. She hailed a passing motorist, G. L. Robinson, 41, of 41 Hartwell avenue, who took the man to the hospital. Traffic Investigator E. H. Christensen said he believed Mr. Neibaur suffered a stroke while on his way to church. Mr. Neibaur was an active member of the L.D.S. church. He served as superintendent of the Sunday school in Frances ward, Kamas, Utah, and had been an active temple worker. Mr. Neibaur was born in Hancock county, Illinois, November 30, 18444, a son of Mr. And Mrs. Alexander Neibaur. He came to Salt Lake City with his parents in 1848. His father was one of the first matchmakers in Salt Lake City. In 1867 he married Jane Spriggs in the old Endowment house. The couple moved to Heber City several years later.

FUNERAL SERVICES SET FOR HYRUM S. NEIBAUR

Funeral services for Hyrum S. Neibaur, 90, 132 West North Temple street, who died in a local hospital Saturday night, will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Joseph William taylor mortuary, 125 North Main street. Bishop Henry M. Taggart. of the Hawthorne L.D.S. ward will officiate. Interment will be in City cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thrusday prior to service.
