Long Illness Proves Fatal

Irvin W. Focht, 83, of 1223 4th Ave., Duncansville, a retired car inspector for the Pennsylvania Railroad and for 37 years treasurer of Duncansville Borough, died at 11.55 a.m. Saturday at his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Allensville on June 22, 1882, a son of Lee and Eliza (Daughenbaugh) Focht, and married Elva Langham in the Duncansville Presbyterian Church on Nov. 17, 1908.

Surviving are his wife, three children, Wendell of Chicago, Mrs. Emily Yeckley of Clearfield and Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Cashen of Baltimore, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Duncansville Lutheran Church, Portage Lodge, F&AM, Altoona Scottish Rite bodies, Jaffa Shrine and Shrine Club, retired Jan. 1, 1954, from the railroad company service after 49 years and in 1963 as borough treasurer.

Friends will be received in the Liebegott Funeral Home, Duncansville, until 10 p.m. today. ----- FOCHT -- Services for Irvin W. Focht of 1223 4th Ave., Duncansville, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Liebegott Funeral Home, Duncansville by the Rev. Carl Warrick. Interment in Carson Valley Cemetery. Friends are being received in the Liebegott Funeral Home where Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. today. Friends are requested to omit flowers.
