Biographical Summary:

Huntsman, Isaiah (1826-1878) (son of James Huntsman and Mary Johnson). Born September 14, 1826, in Richland county, Ohio. Came to Utah in 1849.

1) Married Rebecca Ames January 16, 1849, at Kanesville, Pottawattamie county, Iowa (daughter of Ira Ames and Charity Carter of Vermont, pioneers 1851). She was born 1830, Mooers at Fork, Clinton county, N. Y.

• Ezra born November 12, 1849, married Mary Ann Walton and Mary (Williams) Chandler;
• Harriet born September 25, 1852, married John H. Bankhead, married Daniel Dalton;
• Ira born October 6, 1854, married Anna (Palmer) Hutchinson;
• Clarissa born December 11, 1858, married Benjamin Stewart, married Orson Dalton;
• Isaiah born September 24, 1856, married Mary Ann Meller Palmer, married Susan Dalton, married Thursa Lewis;
• Isabella born November 21, 1862, married John William Dalton;
• Estella born January 24, 1863, married Lewis Monroe Nebeker, married William Nelson Spafford, Jr.;
• James born April 13, 1865, married Eunice Pritchett;
• William born December 17, 1867, married Eveline Thurston, married Minnie Johnston;
• Emer A., died;
• Elmer A. born April 9, 1870, married Augusta Norton;
• Ida Rebecca born November 13, 1873, married Thomas Mitchel Pritchett.

2) Married Emma Melissa King 1856, Salt Lake City (daughter of John Morris King and Sarah Ann Jewell, of American Fork, pioneers September 17, 1852, John Tidwell company). She was born September 18, 1840; died January 10, 1905 in Basin, Cassia county, Idaho.

• Sarah, died infant;
• Mary, married Philander H. Bell;
• Edson, married Elizabeth Johnson;
• Jane, married John Tolman;
• John, married Lucy Hardy;
• Amanda, married Ebenezer Dalton;
• Ada, married Isaac Dalton.

3) Married Sophia Egbert 1868, Salt Lake City. Widow of Robert Egbert with six children. Their

Only child:

• Louisa, died.

Family home Wellsville, Utah.

Member company B Mormon battalion. Settled at Fillmore and took an active part in the Indian warfare of that period. Moved to Wellsville 1864, then back to Fillmore 1870; in fall of 1874 moved to Annabella and died there June 3, 1878. Justice of peace; blacksmith and general mechanic.
