On September 26, 1788, Hardy and Rebeccah (X) Johnson sold Matthew Vick, Sr., for ¶125 curren t Virginia money 100 acres in Nottoway Parish north of Nottoway Swamp adjoining Jacob Barnes, Stephen Johnson, William Pope, John Drake, the orphans of Benjamin Williams (the land that Matthew Johnson heired from his brother Henry Johnson and sold to said Hardy), plus the home plantation of 45 acres south of Nottoway Swamp (the land that Matthew Johnson heired from his father Stephen Johnson and sold to Hardy, less 80 acres sold by Hardy to Moses Joyner); witnessed by Josiah Vick, Joseph Vick, and Knowel Vick.11

On September 15, 1769, Isaac Johnson, John Newton, and Samuel Kindred witnessed the will of J oshua Pope.8

On April 22, 1779, Isaac (X) Johnson of Southampton County sold Thomas Holliday for ¶220 curr ent Virginia money 98 acres south of Nottoway River.9

The 1783 Tax List of Southampton County recorded Isaac Johnson with 389 acres.

On November 27, 1784, Isaac (??) Johnson sold Jacob Johnson of Southampton County for ¶10 cur rent Virginia money 200 acres south of Nottoway River and west of Buckhorn Swamp at the mouth of Chinquapin Branch, along Barrow's Road to the head of Spring Branch and to the fork; witnessed by Richard Deloach, Matthew Figures, and Thomas Edmunds.10

On February 12, 1788, Isaac (X) Johnson of Southampton County sold Thomas Holiday for ¶52 cur rent Virginia money 104 acres south of Nottoway River and bounded by Rose's Swamp, Fitzhugh, and said Holiday; witnessed by Arthur Turner, Thomas C. Patrick, and Howel Vaughan.11

On July 9, 1788, Isaac (X) Johnson sold William Edmunds for ¶35 current Virginia money 96 1/ 2 acres (part of the home place) N.E. of the house and bounded by Robert Pebworth, Pole Branch, Samuel Edmunds, and Nathan Pope; witnessed by Moses Johnson, Howel Vaughan, John Hallcome, and James Foster.12

On May 27, 1789, Isaac (X) Johnson sold William Edmunds for ¶1 current Virginia money "one Ce rtain Spring of running Water together with one Acre of Marsh land around the said Spring which said Spring of running Water is the Constant using spring of the said Isaac Johnson and lies on the southeast side of the Horse Meadow branch"; witnessed by Moses Johnson, Arthur Turner, and Thomas Holiday.13
