ANGLO-BOER WAR 1899-1902

He farmed on Rietvallei, Marico from 1897 untill the outbreak of the Anglo-Boer War in 1899. He was captured on 19 SEP 1901 after being on commando since the outbreak of the Anglo-Boer War. His house, wagon and fields were burnt. His household goods and livestock were confiscated. He lodged a claim for Compensation after the War for 133 Pounds : 15:0. He was only awarded 30 Pounds : 12:0 out of the Ex-burgerfonds.
