"ANOTHER OLD CITIZEN GONE – Jacob Randall, Esq., died at his residence in Harlem, N.Y., on Sunday morning, July 23d, of cancer in the stomach, aged 69 years. His funeral will take place at Scotchtown, Tuesday, at 3 o'clock, p.m. Friends and acquaintances are invited to attend. Mr. Randall was a native of this town, having been born near Scotchtown. For many years he kept a hotel at Searsville. When the late Edward L. Welling was made Sheriff, he appointed Mr. Randall Deputy and keeper of the Goshen Jail. He also held several minor offices, in all of which he faithfully and intelligently performed his duty. A few years ago he removed to Illinois, and from thence to New York, where he lived up to the time of his death. Besides being a good citizen and honest man he was an old Whig and a zealous Union man, aiding the Government by the help of two of his sons, who were in the service to put down the Rebellion. Peace to his memory."
