James Baldwin, 2nd child of Joseph 1663 Baldwin and Elizabeth Grover, was b. Aug. 9, 1694, in Malden, Mass.; m. Feb. 7, 1723 with MARY STOWER; he lived in Malden until 1739. His will, dated 1774, was proved Feb. 1,1779. He was then of Leicester. He was a weaver in Leicester as early as 1754.

Children were: Mary (1724), Mehitable (1725), James (1728), Hannah (1730), Jemima (1733), David (1735), Benjamin (1737), Nathan (1739), *Stephen, and *Ebenezer.

• Note: His will, dated 1774, to be found in the Probate Records in Worcester, Mass., remembers his wife. He gives his real estate to his son Ebenezer, and remembers his sons Ebenezer, James, Stephen and Benjamin, to whom he gives his houses and all his utensils. In the Worcester, Mss. of C.C. Baldwin, of Worcester, in a letter from Levi, who gives his children: three daughters, and sons James, Benjamin, Stephen, and Ebenezer. [sons Stephen and Ebenezer were late additions to the above listing of children as a result of the Will's contents.
