James, born 1mo 17th (17 March), 1681 (presumably the year is already converted, given that another source says 1680/1681), at Marcus Hook; married contrary to order, and was disowned by the Society.

From Bill Putnam's information on the Brown family:
JAMES BROWN JR. was born January 17, 1681 at Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania.
Ben M. Angel notes: This misdate was apparently the result of confusion over conversion of pre-1752 Quaker Calendar dates. John Marshall writes in the Quaker Calendar date verbatim in his family tree page:
Generation 4: James Brown was born 1mo 17 1680/81 at Marcus Hook, PA.
From Bryan Scott Godfrey's research on his family tree:
James Brown, Jr.,
born 17 Jan 1680/81 in Marcus Hook, Chester Co., PA ;
died 04 Mar 1772 in Wilmington, New Castle Co., DE.
