"Mr James Drummond, the Grand Old Man of the Moutere, celebrated his 96th birthday on Sunday last, when he received the congratulations of his many friends in all parts of the Dominion. . . .
"Mr Drummond was for over 30 years a member of the Motueka Road Board, Motueka Highway Board and Lower Moutere School committee.
"The other surviving members of the family are:
"Mrs G. Stade, Tahunanui; Mrs E. Holtham, Featherston; Mr Herbert Drummond, Riverhead, Auckland; Mrs C.E. Thompson, Braeburn; Mrs C. Allport, Richmond; Mrs W. Ward, Braeburn; Miss L. E. Drummond, Braeburn; Mr Norman Drummond, Braeburn; Mrs C.A. Newport, Braeburn; Mr Louis Drummond, Braeburn.
"The youngest son, Maurice, was killed at Messines during the Great War."
