About James Dustin

James Dustin was born June 28, 1734, in Haverhill, Massachusetts. He was the six child of Timothy Dustin and Sarah Johnson. In 1754, James was in a company of scouts under Captain John Webster. He married Abigale Gile in April or May of 1756. At that time he bought 30 acres of land from his brother Paul in Hampstead. In 1758 he was in Captain Hazen's company for the relief of Fort Ticonderoga. In 1760 he sold his land and moved his family to Plaistow. In 1763 he moved to Salem with his wife and 3 children. In 1765 they are recorded as moving from Marlboro to Plaistow.

James signed the Association test in 1776 at Henniker New Hampshire. From July 22nd through September 17th, 1777, James served in Captain Bailey's company, Colonel Stickney's Regiment of Stark's Brigade and marched from Hopkinton.

He may have later moved to Enfield, New Hampshire
