About James Dustin

James Dustin was born June 28, 1734 in Haverhill, MA. He was the six child of Timothy Dustin and Sarah Johnson. He married Abigale Gile in April or May of 1756. At that time he bought 30 acres of land from his brother Paul in Hampstead. In 1760 he sold his land and moved his family to Plaistow. In 1763 he moved to Salem with his wife and 3 children. In 1765 they are recorded as moving from Marlboro to Plaistow.

In 1754 James was in a company of scouts under Captain John Webster and in 1758 he was in Captain Hazen's company for the relief of Fort Ticonderoga. James signed the Association test in 1776 at Henniker New Hampshire. In July (22) through September 17, 1777 James served in Captain Bailey's company, Colonel Stickney's Regiment of Starks Brigade and marched from Hopkinton.

He may have later moved to Enfield, NH.
