About James Eggleston, of Windsor

James Eggleston (1617 - 1679), son of Bygod Eggleston and Mary Talcott, was born 1617 at Norwich, Norfolk, England, and died at the age of 62 on 1 December 1679 at Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut. He married Hester Kelsey (1636 - 1720), daughter of William Kelsey. He emigrated from England to Boston, Massachusetts in March 1630 aboard the Mary and John. James Eggleston served in the Pequot Indian War. He became a freeman in 1637. He was named in his father's will and in 1671 was granted 50 acres for military service.
