James Joseph Forsmann passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, in Sagle, Idaho. Viewing and Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Lakeview Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sandpoint, with Fr. Dennis C. Day officiating.

Jim was born July 31, 1948, in Cottonwood, to John and Armella Forsmann. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School in Lewiston, St. Gertrude's Academy in Cottonwood, and Lewis-Clark State College. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army.

Jim married Molly Hunt July 5, 1976, in Sandpoint. He worked for Haener Sawmill in Grangeville, and then Bennett Lumber Company in Clarkston for 20 years. They then moved to Sandpoint in 1991.

Jim will be remembered for his great sense of humor; he was a big tease. He enjoyed fishing, classic cars and classic rock, watching his son and grandchildren play sports, and his Scotty dogs Bonnie and Scotty.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Molly Forsmann, of Sagle; mother Armella Haener of Grangeville; son Aaron Hunt of Sagle; grandchildren James and Taylor Hunt; siblings John (Jacky) Forsmann of Lewiston, Debbie (Joe) Stegner of Lewiston, Russ (Connie) Forsmann of Boise, Randy (Karen) Forsmann of Clarkston, Rick (Denice) Haener of Boise, Alicia Jones of Anchorage, Alaska, Tom (Kristen) Haener of Meridian, and Tim (Chris) Haener of Eagle; stepsiblings Hank Haener of Clarkston, Muriel Arnzen of Green Creek, Nelia Hartwig, Clarice Rad of Cottonwood, Camilla Vandermeulin of Norwalk, Conn., Valerie Westover of Anchorage and Melanie Ruhl of Seattle.

He was preceded in death by his father, John B. Forsmann; stepfather Henry Haener; brother-in-law Ron Jones; and grandparents Kate and Frank Forsmann and Joseph and Anna Schaeffer.
