James and Julia were married in DuPage County, Illinois by Peter Fischer; Catholic Priest. Illinois Statewide Marriage Index, 1763–1900 Groom: KARNE [KANE], JAMES
(Note: Utilizing the IRAD database above I received no returns using "KANE" because of the misspelling of James' surname. Upon entering "McCormick, Julia" and DuPage I received the above information.) |

There is no conclusive data present in this record to positively associate it with our James KANE. However, of all the James KANES (22) in the Illinois, Northern District Naturalization Index, 1840-1950 at Family Search, most were disqualified due to being minors or being naturalized after James’ death. The other two I feel were “possibilities” were naturalized in counties farther south (Tazewell and Fulton). Counties which I’ve found no other connection to our James KANE. At this time I feel this is the most credible match. |
