James and Ruth had 3 daughters Jane born 1853 at Kissing Point, Charlotte and Frances. Charlotte died aged 14 of Consumption at Ballina. This James was never married to Mary Mann. The James Mitchell who married Mary Ann Mann was born in Scotland and arrived in Sydney about 1844 with his parents and his sister Lillias. James did not have brothers named John or George.
