About James Walter Waite
James Walter Waite, was born on Oct. 12, 1917, South Side Chicago, ILL. He was 93 when he passed away, on Jan. 9, 2011. Mr. Waite was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Leone Waite on December 30, 2009
Mr. Waite is survived by his sons Byron Waite of Minden Nevada and Charles Waite of Santa Cruz, California; and daughters Rosalind Alley of California, Diane Heth, California, and Marilyn Gunther of, Oregon. He was a man who knew how to work and keep his family fed. He was very artistic, spiritual, a wonderful story teller. writer of poetry, lover of good books, and fancy cars. Devoted husband, creative soul, survived the great depression of the 1930's. Could recite his families roots back at least two hundred and fifty years.
His biggest genealogical thrill was when his half brother Douglas's family was found! It was after not knowing where he was for over seventy years. The Wait/Wait family just had their fifth reunion this past October with Douglas’s, James’s, and Horace's descendants.
