Drew up will while resident on Beaufort Vale, District Albany, Cape on 2 December 1829 Allotments in Beaufort Vale, one which he acquired from Benjamin Hall, transferred to his sons Richard, Peter and James 29/07/1847.

Died due to wounds obtained in one of the Wars with the Xhosas
