    Jean de Brienne was born before 1241. He was the son of Maud de Brienne.2 He married, firstly, Mary de Coucy, daughter of Enguerrand III, Lord de Coucy and Mary de Montmirel-en-Brie, in 1257.3 He married, secondly, Jeanne, Dame du Château du Loir, daughter of Geoffrey IV, Vicomte de Châteaudun.2 He died in 1296.2
    Jean de Brienne was also known as Jean of Acre. He held the office of Grand Butler of France in 1258.2 He held the office of Ambassador to Castile in 1275.2
