Jenico Preston, 5th Viscount Gormanston was born circa 1585.[2] He was the son of Christopher Preston, 4th Viscount Gormanston and Catherine FitzWilliam.[2]

He married Margaret St. Lawrence, daughter of Nicholas St. Lawrence, 8th Baron Howth and Margaret Barnewall.[2]

He died on 14 March 1629/30.[2]

He succeeded to the title of 5th Viscount Gormanston [I., 1478] on 24 January 1599/0.[2] He succeeded to the title of 8th Lord Preston of Gormanston [I., 1370] on 24 January 1599/0.[2]
