Gravestone in Lawyersville Cemetery Schoharie County reads: Jeremiah Young Died March 29, 1845 Age 90 years, 7 mos. and 8 days He was a Revolutionary Soldier Mary, wife of Jeremiah Young Died Jan 20, 1817 Aged 56 years, 3 months, and 13 days. The following items relate to Jeremiah's war service: Bruce's Onondaga Centennial, Vol. 2, page 132 says "Jeremiah Young, Revolutionary Soldier, was grandfather to Peter J Young". ("Little Pete") son of Jacob I Young and Isabell McNaughton. The D.A.R. Lineage Book for 1908 says: "Jeremiah Young -1753-1844- served as ensign in the First Regiment Tyron County, N.Y. Militia under Col. Samuel Campbell, 1778" (Same regiment as his brother, Jacob).
