  • On 3 July 1729 In a deed recorded on Simsbury, Conn. Land Records, vol. 5, p. 234, "I Mary Hoskins, widow of Windsor, alias Mary Wilson, formerly Mary Griffin, in consideration of ye love, good will, respect and affection that I have and do bear to my grandson Job Drake of said Windsor ye son of my daughter Abigail, ye wife of Benedic Alvord, - fifty acres of land in Simsbury." • On 2 February 1730/31 Job Drake the 2nd and his wife Martha Drake, alias Martha Moore, both of Windsor, in the County of Hartford and Colony of Connecticut, have received of Capt. Thomas Moore of Windsor, executor in the last will and testament of John Moore, Esq., late of sd. Windsor deceased, full satisfaction for and on the account of a certain bequest or legacy given by the sd. • On 11 February 1734/35 Mrs. Mary Moore of Windsor, "for love and affection to my son-n-law, Job Drake, and my daughter Martha Drake, his wife" deeded land in Windsor, Connecticut.3

His will was dated on 12 July 1784 Mentions "my grandson Elihu Drake, my other grandson, Job Drake, my grandaughters, Mary, Rhoda and Lucy Drake."3

  • It appears that Job is the illegitimate son of Abigail Wilson, by Job Drake (1678-1712). Frank B. Gay in The Descendants of John Drake of Windsor, page 26, places Job as no. 52, son of Job Drake (1678-1712) no. 51, but does not elaborate, nor does he suggest a mother. The will of Job Drake (1678-1712) does not mention Job or any other children, or a wife. His estate goes to his siblings. The will of Elizabeth (Clark) (Cook) Drake, mother of Job Drake (1678-1712) mentions her children and many grandchildren, but not Job. It appears that the Drake family did not acknowledge Job. The will of Mary Hoskins, mentions her grandson, Job, son of her daughter Abigail Alford, but does not give his surname. In 1729, the same Mary Hoskins deeds to her grandson, Job Drake, land in Simsbury.
