Dutch emigrant to South Africa (Franschhoek) received staying permit in 1946, arrival in SA 1941.
Johan Frederik Kalishoek also known as Jan Frederik Kalishoek was a captain on the Japara and in command of the troop transport ship 'Nieuw Holland' 18 June 1941. Johan became injured (spinal injury due to German granade shells ) and had to leave the ship in Capetown, South Africa, initially for a 6 month sick leave in Capetown.
His condition did not allow to travel back to the Netherlands and Johan applied for residency and received his permanent staying permit to stay in South Africa in 1946.
Johan divorced his wife Huiberdina Muilenburg who was still living in the Netherlands and settled at the address West View, Victoria Street, Franschhoek Western Cape, South Africa.
KALISHOEK Jan Frederick died 17-May-1982 in Franschoek BUT his wife is listed as Lillian F. Saunders on his death certificate.
All * official documents about his medical condition and residence application are in my possesion if anyone is interested.
