John G. (age 35) and Catherine Wohlleben (age 35, using her maiden name) arrived together in New York on 8 May 1860 aboard the "Atalanta", from Bremen, Germany. John listed himself as a Farmer. It appears that they traveled without children. George (son) arrives in 1865 and Johann Ignatz (son) arrives 1885.
John and Catherine marry in 1867 in Manhattan.

(Head of household, age 53), Kath (wife, age 53) and George (son, age 18) are first found in the 2 June 1880 Census in Manhattan, New York, living at 40 W130th St., between Amsterdam and Broadway, Manhattan, NY. John is a Laborour and George is a Baker. All 3 where born in Bavaria, Germany. (1880; Census New York City, New York, New York; Roll: 892; Pg. 370C; ED 531.).
1892 NY State Census shows John G. (widowed, age 64), living with John I. (Age 32), Minnie (age 25) and Katie (age 11 mo). John and John are both listed as "Truckman". John I. is a citizen while John (age 64) and Minne are listed as alien. (1892 NY State census, Kings Co, Brooklyn, ward 16, ed 12, Pg 5, 16 Feb 1892)
