Johann Rudolf de Steiguer (1743 - 1805), the father of the American immigrant. Johann was a lieutenant-colonel in the service of Holland and bailiff of Grandson from 1785 to 1790. He resided for some time at the Grandson Castle, and his coat-of-arms is still on display a the Grandson city hall.
