About John Adam Harner
John lived at least to 1880, when he was 62 in the McDowell County, WV census. We have not yet found his year of death.
Some trees show John's death as 4 Jun 1884 in Berrien, Berrien County, Michigan, but I haven't seen any documentation supporting a move to Michigan so near the end of his life. It seems very unlikely.
John and Elizabeth had at least 8 or 9 children. Adam is as yet undocumented, and there is a mysterious 8-year interval between Elijah (b. 1846) and Suzannah (b. 1854), so there could have been several more children who died young (and before the 1860 census). This Ancestry.com profile shows additional children David and Michael that could have been in that interval, but without any supporting documentation.
