About John H. All

I have found John's surname spelled Aull and All. His descendants used All.

John Aull was born in Indiana c.1846. His parents were both born in Kentucky. He served in the Civil War in the 85th Indiana Infantry. He married Laura Annie Zediker, daughter of David S. Zediker and Eliza Robbins.

In the 1870 US census, John appears in the household of David Cummins, and gives his occupation as sawmill worker.

In 1880, John and Laura are living in Linn County, Iowa. They settled in Fresno County, California after that date. Voter registration records for John start in the early 1880's in various communities in Fresno County. He is buried in Mendocino Cemetery, Parlier, Fresno Co., California.

I believe the attached photo of a tombstone to be the marker of John's grave. He is buried among the Zedikers, and what is left of the stone reads "85th Ind. Inf." John served as a private in the 85th Regiment, Company F.

John and Laura Annie were the parents of:

  • John Wilson Aull
  • Early Aull
  • Jesse Pearl Aull
  • Bertha P. Aull
  • Ethel M. Aull
