John Eston Arledge was born at Nibletts Bluff, Calcasieu Parish, LA on November 11, 1917. He grew up on the family farm.
He was the son of John Thomas Arledge and Edna Estelle Lyons Arledge and had one sister, Willie Brooks Arledge Davis.
John was a graduate of the Vinton High School in Vinton, LA.
John served in the CCC before joining the Navy becoming a SM2c befoe dying on the USS Arizona on December 7, 1941. John was promoted to SM1c after his death.
