About John Jerimiah Benson
Mr. Benson was born at Salt Lake City November 13, 1854. He moved to Summit county when a young boy and resided there until moving to the Basin seventeen years ago in June. He has held responsible positions in church and civic circles all his life. In Summit county he was bishop of a ward and a member of the high council there as well as holding many positions in Roosevelt stake, being a high counselor. He also filled a mission in the Southern states in 1890.
He is survived by his wife, five sons, M. J., Archie of Ioka; Roy, Merle of Roosevelt and Maurice of Shelley, Idahop; three daughters, Mrs. Lulu Horton and Mrs. Naomi Swain of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Elva Miles of Ioka; 34 grandchildren and one great grandchild. The remains were taken to the Ioka cemetery.
