John was the son of Andrew Strong Lowery and Sarah Dial. He married Polly Ann Deese on Apr. 15, 1885 in Robeson county, North Carolina. Their marriage produced at least six sons. According to his NC death certificate, he was a victim of the Spanish Influenza Pandemic of 1918-19.

  • **NOTE: His tombstone is engraved with Jr., but I believe his father was Andrew Strong Lowery.
