Pioneer Information: This may be John Bennett Hawkins. In the 1860 Utah census a John B. Hawkins was living in the Salt Lake City 14th Ward. The Registry of names of Persons Residing in the Various Wards as to Bishops' Reports, Great Salt Lake City, December 28th, A.D. 1852 also lists a John Hawkins (no middle initial), in the 14th Ward. Additional research is needed to prove that the John Hawkins who crossed the plains with the Higbee Company of 1852 is indeed John Bennett Higbee.
