He was the son of Richard Horton and Ann Horton (unknown)

John Horton removed to Lullington co. Somerset where he married and had issue:

  1. William Horton born about 1453;
  2. Thomas Horton born Lullington co Somerset, died in 1530, married Mary ____, her will was proved 1564;
  3. James Horton, Lullington co. Somerset, he was a priest;
  4. Joan Horton, Lullington co. Somerset, she married William Rogers Esq.

John Horton, had been a clothier in Lullington on the Somerset side of Frome but settled in Iford on the Wiltshire side.  He died in 1497 leaving three sons.  His youngest son entered the Church.

Lullington is a village and civil parish just across the Mells River from Beckington and 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north east of Frome, in the Mendip district of Somerset, England. The parish was part of the hundred of Frome.

The parish includes the hamlet of Laverton, where the Church of St. Mary dates from the 11th century.[2]
