Baptism at Sullington of John PENFOLD - I searched from1755 to 1765 and

I didn't find it. I did, however, find these two baptisms as I was leafing

through the register:

1753 24 Jun Mary daur of George & Dorothy PENFOLD

1760 06 Jan James son of George & Dorothy PENFOLD

So, the PENFOLD family were living in Sullington at the time that John

PENFOLD is likely to have been

born and the above may have been his siblings.

I also checked the Storrington registers from 1755 to 1765, but didn't find

John PENFOLD's baptism there either.

From Trevor Penfold [ trevor @ Penfoldgenealogy.com ] remove spaces.

To date I have not been able to prove, with the aid of a paper based trail, that John Penfold, the husband of Elizabeth Sandell of Itchingfield, Sussex was the same John Penfold that was born in Broadwater, Sussex.

This is somewhat disturbing as the contrary is now circulating widely on the internet and within many family trees and is being accepted as fact.
