John married Mary Ruth Gerrard, daughter of Richard Gerrard and Elizabeth Dutton, circa 1630 at Marshfield, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. John Phillips died on 16-Dec-1682 at Marshfield, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, at age 80.

He and Mary Street immigrated in 1630; in the Winthrop Fleet with two children, Mary and John.
