John, second of Aldie, burgess of Tain, son and heir of his father in the lands of Aldie, 22d July 1656 (Inq. spec. Ross el Crom.), married Margaret, daughter of William, son of Andrew Ross, Provost of Tain (MS. Fed.).

4. William, * son to deceased William Ross, bailie of Tain ' (Sasine 4th March 1670, witness). He apparently had a son, Alexander, * son of William Ross, burgess of Tain (witness Sasine nth December 1673), and a daughter Margaret, married to John Ross of Aldie (liv.).
