Biographical Summary:

John Snider (son of Marlin Snider and Sarah Armstrong of Eglington, Canada). Born February 11, 1800, New Brunswick. Nova Scotia. Came to Utah 1850, Lorin W. Babbitt company.

Baptized into LDS church, 1836, at Toronto. Ordained a priest, before 1837. Served mission to England, 1837. Moved to Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri, 18 July 1838. Ordained a seventy, 19 Jan. 1839, in Far West. Moved to Hancock Co., Illinois, by 1840. Member of Nauvoo House Association. Appointed guard in Nauvoo Legion, Mar. 1841. Served mission to United Kingdom, 1842–1843. Migrated to Salt Lake City, ca. 1850. Died in Salt Lake City.
