Parentage is not certain. Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia states that his father was "William Taylor" but does not give any other details. The closest William Taylor that fits already had another son named John who married Margaret Grey, so he probably does *not* belong in the family of William and Mary Prescott Taylor.
