(son of William Tidwell, born in Shelby county, Kentucky, and Sarah Goben, born in Clay county, Indiana., both of Henry county, Kentucky). He was born January 14, 1807, in Shelby county, Kentucky. Came to Utah September 16, 1862, captain of his own company.

   Married:	Jane Smith December 18, 1828, in Clark county, Indiana., who was born June 6, 1812, and died May 20, 1893.

           William Nelson, married Mary Elizabeth Reynolds;
           Mary Jane, married Benjamin Johnson;
           Jefferson, married Sarah Seely;
           Lyman and Nancy Ann, died;
           Martha, married John Lusk;
           Margeret, married Albert Zabriskie;
           Sarah, married Bent Johnson;
           John, Jr.;
           Emma Jane, died;
           Emeline Mariah, married Isaac Smith.

Member 1st quorum seventies and president of seventies at Provo. Located at Pleasant Grove 1852, and moved to Mount Pleasant 1859. Built a fort for protection against the Indians. Died January 24, 1887, at Mount Pleasant. Sources:
