Mormon Pioneer Overland Travel, 1847–1868 1847-1868 (Unknown Year of Travel)

Pioneer Information: Evidence from genealogical and church ordinance records proves that John traveled to Utah between 1863 and 1867. He sailed to America in 1855 and his wife died in New York in Oct. 1862, but the first documentation to place him in Utah is a church ordinance performed in June 1868, which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration. Further research is needed to determine the year he came to Utah, the name of the company he traveled with and whether or not any of his children accompanied him.
