Birth: Mar. 1, 1670 Farmington Hartford County Connecticut, USA Death: Mar. 3, 1751 Waterbury New Haven County Connecticut, USA

John Warner was the first physician in Westbury (now Watertown). He was made a 40 pound proprietor on March 26, 1699, his right being entered in 1722 and afterward as John Warner, Senior, back lot. He had a grant of land of 25 acres in 1690. He did build and live there. As early as April 20, 1703 he seems to have been living on Bucks Hill. At that date he sold land adjoining him to Joseph Gaylord Jr. He appears to have been the first settler on Bucks Hill. Here he remained several years, but at length removed to Stratford, CT. He was in the latter place June 1715 at which time he sold to Daniel Sheldon of said Stratford, 33 acres of land and a house on Bucks Hill. About 1723 he returned to Waterbury and settled in the part of town afterward called Westbury. Here he had land laid out and had a house in December 1724 near Steel's Brook and on the road to Wooster Swamp. At the time and after his return he had been practicing medicine while he was away. He was the first physician in Wesbury. When Westbury became a separate society he was made first deacon of the church. He also held other town offices.
