Antonio’s and Josefa’s children, including Felipe Neri firmly established their roots in the San Juan Rio Arriba area of New Mexico. In 1707, because she did not have the means to develop the land, sold some land north of San Juan de los Caballeros, to the husband of her sister Maria—Sebastian Martin Serrano.

In 1727, Felipe Neri and his siblings filed suit against Sebastian Martin to recover properties. They alleged that back in 1707, while they were still minors, Sebastian had coerced their mother Josefa or had conspired with her to take possession of lands rightfully belonging to them as heirs of Antonio. They won the suit and were given a portion of the grant bounded by San Juan Pueblo.
