Served in the Revolutionary War as a Colonel

Col. Joseph Noyes and Joshua Babcock of Westerly, R. I., were members of the House of Representatives of Rhode Island In 1776 and voted for the "Act to repeal an act for the maintenance of the King's authority In Rhode Island." This act was passed several months before the "Declaration of Independence" was signed In Philadelphia, July 4, 1778.
