Well-Known Wholesale Grocery Man is Unconscious at Home on Washington Street
J. E. Singer, of 174 Washington Street, who was paralysed on last Monday night is at his home in an unconscious condition.
He, for a number of year, has been interested in the wholesale grocery business on Broad Street. He has a wife and two daughters, Mrs. Tom Daniel and Mrs. George Tigner, and two sons, H. S. & Joe Singer.
Mr. Singer has always been very proud of his war record. He went into the Civil War as a member of the Stewart Grays, of Lumpkin, Georgia, in 1861, participated in many of the hardest battles of the war and surrendered with General Lee at Appomattox. He has attended many reunions and is enthusiastic over all matters of interest to the confederate veterans.
