Joseph Weeks Fernald was born 4 June 1756 .
He married , at age 31, 13 Feb ,1787 Carherine Chandler,daughter of Thomas Chandler and Jane Marr.
Lived on the part of town,Kittry now called * Foreside"
Military info:
13 May 1773, at age 17, res of Kittery,Me, he eblisted as private in captain T. fernald's Company of the thirteenth Regfiment of the United Colonies.
28 Nove 1775, was still in the Company.
31 Dec 1775 prob ws discharged age 19
16 Jan, 1776, age 20, he enlisted as a private , res Kittery,Maine in Captain E Daniel's Co. At this time he enlisted or was drafted for 3 months services with the Continental Army. Prob. served with Captain W, Holbrook's Co, of Captain J. Frost's regiment.
4 June 1777,age 21 and 23 Sept. 1777 he was once again in Captain daniel's Co. New hampshire State Troops at fort Sullivan,
1777 enlisted on the Continental Fregate "The Ranger" with Captain JOhn Paul Jones.
December 1777 he was on the Ranger on the river Loire,france.
