Joshua Goode is listed on the 1870 census in Pickens Co GA.,

age 42, Martha A. 14, John M. 6., house 290. In house 289 Margaret Goode age 40, Margaret J. 8. It looks like Joshua and Margaret are living apart on this census.

Listed in house 288 is a Lucinda Harris age 53 born N.C., James A. 16.

In house 291 below Joshua is a Eliza A. Harris age 24, with children Amanda 6, William 4, Thomas R. 3 and Matilda A. 5mths. I would say Lucinda is Eliza mother-in-law.?

1880 census Pickens co Ga

Joshua 51, Liza A. 34, Amanda 15, Robbert T. 14, William 13, Lucinda M. 10, Mathilda or Martha A. 8, Joshua 6, Charley 4, Clementine 2.

In the book Key and Allied families. It has Joshua married to Matilda Crye. I would assume her name was Margaret Matilda. Listed children as follows: Martha, Margaret, John, Amanda, william T., James A., Annie, Lee, Charles K., Mary and Edith. Charles K. married Susan Prichett.

On the 1880 census list all children under the name Goode. He may have adopted them.

1860 census Pickens Co. list

Jaushiah Good age 32 born Ga. Margaret 28, Martha 5, Margaret Jr. 1.

Does your James Clark Goode have a brother named Joshua Marion Goode? If I am right, this Joshua is my gggrandfather. I think he married Matilda Crye first and then Eliza A. Harris. They had several children and one was Annie Lee Goode who married Charlton B. Weaver from anderson Co. TN. These are my grandparents. One son, my dad, Elmer wootson Weaver is my dad.
