Mehetabel Metcalf of Dedham, June 22, 1713. No issue. Mehetabel, d. Dec. 2, 1724.
He was born 29 Oct 1634 in Berry, Pomeroy, Devonshire, England. He arrived in Roxbury, Massachusetts between 1635 & 1638. From 1661-1681 he was a resident of Braintree, Massachusetts. From 1681-1726 he was a leading citizen of Mendon.

He himself died during the year 1726 at the advanced age of 92. Thus it is seen that he had been the father of 15 children and the husband of 3 successive wives. Truly he seems to have obeyed the ancient injunction, "Multiply, and replenish the earth." And it will be seen below that his son Seth went and did likewise, for he was worthy of his illustrious sire.
