Sewalls History of Woburn says Josiah was much employed in town business; and mentions him as one of a committee of 2 to care for the town lands. Capt. Convers is signing the bond of administration to his father's estate in 1690 used a seal, a lion rampant. This same heraldic seal is affixed to his own will of 1717. His son, Josiah, also used a seal, this last seal was smaller that the older examples.
