About Jules Israel (Irving)

Jules Irving (born Jules Israel) was a film and stage director. He co-founded the San Francisco Actors' Workshop with Herbert Blau in 1952. He was artistic director of Lincoln Center's Repertory Theater and experimental Forum (1967 to 1973), and later a television director, "Rich Man, Poor Man" (1976 to 1977). Irving is the father of actress Amy Irving who was married to Steven Spielberg.
