About Klaus Pringsheim
Klaus Pringsheim Sr. (July 24, 1883, Munich – December 7, 1972, Tokyo) was a German-born composer, conductor, music-educator, and twin brother of Katharina "Katia" Pringsheim, since 1905 wife of Thomas Mann. He was the son of mathematician and artist Alfred Pringsheim and his wife Hedwig Dohm Pringsheim, who was an actress in Berlin before her marriage. Along with making big effort for spreading and establishing classical music in Japan, he had a great influence on Japanese musicians.
